Noelson Chery
Pastor
My name is Noelson Chery. I am very excited that you have taken the time to visit the website of First Haitian Metanoia Baptist Church where I serve as Pastor. I have the most awesome privilege of being the founder of this family oriented church. We are a church that cares.
I was born and raised in Haiti, and moved to the United States at the age of 27. I have been married with my lovely and God-fearing wife Edna Chery since 1997. We are most grateful unto God for blessing our family with four wonderful young men (Noelson II, Jeshua, Immanuel K, and Jordy our nephew) who continue to walk in the fear of the Lord. My wife Edna is, and has always been my number one and strongest supporter. I never will be able to repay her for her countless hours of prayer spent before the throne of God on my behalf, crying out for wisdom and guidance that I so desperately need for the work of ministry. Through the years, Edna has served in several ministries, but she has a special calling for evangelistic outreach, children’s ministry and ministry to the elderly.
God’s calling on my life has always been clear to me. Serving in ministry is the greatest fulfillment. God has prepared me both theologically and academically for so great and challenging a task.
By the power of his might, God has led me to earn a bachelor’s degree in theology from Philadelphia Biblical University, currently known as Cairn University, and a master’s degree in Languages and Cultures from West Chester University of Pennsylvania. Yet the accolades of the world don’t mean much to me. My joy and purpose in life is to serve my God and King Jesus Christ my Lord.
I am very passionate about the systematic study of the Word of God. As a pastor-teacher, I try to live according to the standards prescribed in 2 Tim 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
Should you visit our church some day, you will find that First Haitian Metanoia Baptist Church is intentional in the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry. Above all, I pray that you find in First Haitian Metanoia Baptist Church a place that facilitates a personal relationship and communion with the Lord Jesus Christ, a safe place for you and your family. Our church exists to proclaim the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ, a testimony of God’s unconditional love for you.
Please do not hesitate to contact us/visit us either online or in person.
Thank you,
May the peace of God rest upon your life.

Edna Chery
Edna Chery is the wife of Noelson Chery, the pastor of First Haitian Metanoia Baptist Church. Edna and Noelson have been blessed by God with three sons Noelson II, Jeshua and Immanuel, and Jordy Chery their nephew. Born and raised in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Edna attended Bolosse Baptiste church with her parents until she moved to the United States of America in 1997. Edna accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in her teenage years and was later baptized at the age of 18. Because of her love for the Word of God, Edna volunteered to work with both younger kids and young people her age. Edna is particularly grateful to her mother Mrs. Cherimene Anger who raised her and her siblings according to the word of God, and who made sure that they displayed godly behavior in their everyday lives.
Edna met and married Noelson at Bolosse Baptiste church. Since 1998, she has been supporting her husband who’s been called by God, and chosen by him for the work of ministry. Looking back now, she believes that the Lord had brought them together to fulfill His divine plan and purpose. “Nothing is a coincidence about our lives, she says”
Most importantly, Edna’s life story has been about pursuing God and displaying the deep love of Christ to all whose paths she crosses. She enjoys spending time in God’s presence and learning about the provisions that we believers have through the blood of Christ Jesus our Lord (Col 2:15). She and her husband share no greater dream but to share the tremendous love of God for mankind as he offered his only Son Jesus Christ as the ultimate sacrifice so we can be reconciled with him and have eternal life. May God’s will be done in our lives, in our families, in our churches and in our land.
Jesus Christ is knocking at your door right now. Please let him in.
